Baby K is 5

Funny how fast time flies. It seemed so recent that I was lamenting Baby K not wanting to come out to face and the world, and within what seems like a flash, Baby K is already 5 months old. Geez. Where did all the time go? The lack of sleep truly warps time.

My cousin Steph from Sydney came down to spend a week and a half in Singapore, en route home from her 3 month travel adventure in North America and Europe. Lucky her.

Lil' K has an amazing effect on people. People who are not normally crazy over babies have taken to Lil' K and fallen in love with her. Maybe she brings out the maternal / paternal instinct in people?

Here's a photo of Lil' K and Steph. See what a natural Steph is with K.

Lil' K's 5th month cake is chocolate banana from Awfully Chocolate. This time, I'm using Steph as my scapegoat for getting the cake. Sorry Steph! I've run out of excuses trying to justify getting K a cake every month. Hee.

Water Baby

We brought Lil' K for her first dip in the pool at our condo on G's birthday. Lil' K absolutely squealed in delight when her tiny (not so short) toes touched the cool water. She's truly a water baby.

G & I bought Lil' K a zebra print bikini from GAP when we were in Tokyo last year. It was for 6-12 months old babies. We tried to let K wear it, but the bikini top could hardly fit past her head! After much struggling, we decided to just let her wear the bottom-- and she looked like a boy baby instead of a hot chick in zebra print bikini!

Don't you think she looks like Gwandpa? Especially the overhanging cheeks and the sparse hair... Grin.

We got her a swimming float that holds her head above water and allows her hands and feet to splash about in the water. Here are some of the (more decent) swimming photos:

Had dinner at Portabelle at Killiney Road to celebrate G's birthday. The food was yummy! Burp.

Gong Xi Gong Xi

We managed to get off work early on Chinese New Year's Eve. Spent time with Lil' K. Her arms are now getting stronger and she can hold her head up longer when we put her prone. Lil' K with her favourite Ernie toy (its actually my toy--almost 30 years ago!)

We introduced teething toys for Lil' K to soothe her sore gums. Check out her expression *what's this cold thing!*. Priceless!

Our golden pig managed to rake in enough for her first Chinese New Year to sponsor her ticket to Japan =)

Lil K's first reunion dinner. Though she couldn't eat at the table with us this year, she was an active participant with her cooing, gurgling and blowing of saliva bubbles (and yes, salivating loads too).

First day of Chinese New Year. The entire family came over for lunch.

Before the chaos started:

Posing in the front porch before guests arrived:

Lunch is served. Lo Hei!

K was exhausted after an exciting morning. Decides to fall asleep on Daddy's lap admist the chaos around her:

(Yes, I AM obsessed with her feet...)

Cousin Darryl trying out the Bumbo chair. Seems to like it. =) Check out cousin Darryl's Elvis Presley hair. K is visibly tickled.

Celebrated God-Mama's Birthday on the 4th day of Chinese New Year at Merchant Court. Although the food wasn't as great as it used to be and the prices were exorbitant cos of the Chinese New Year, G & I stuffed ourselves silly nonetheless. Here is Lil' K dressed in such adult clothes--her frills match God-Mama's!

Went to J's place after lunch to pai nian. K obviously has a thing for J. Her eyes lit up in delight when she caught a glimpse of him. We sat the two of them on the sofa. She first started out coyly trying to hold his hand, and then she became more bold. Her hand started to wander up his sleeve... J's mom decided to rescue her dear son before K tried anything funny, much to all our amusement. Hee hee hee. Here's a photo of J and K before my camera battery went flat.

Here are two photos of J and K before K stuck her hand into J's shirt.
Check out how the two kiddos gou gou shou zi.

Once and for all... the answer is...
