Its a Hort Day at the Hort Park

We checked out Hort Park earlier this afternoon after hearing about it from D. They have a "lifestyle room", which, if you asked me, looks more like a showflat decorated full of plants. Here's a picture of Gwandpa and his pride and joy... his mini-me:

Had lunch at Kha, a newly opened Thai restaurant located there. Can't say that the selection was great (what respectable Thai restaurant doesn't serve Olive Rice?!) but the food was decent enough. Ambiance was great and the service was great. Maybe cos Lil' K was such a dearie who attracted all the attention (yet again).

K tried fresh strawberries for the first time. Was initially afraid that she may not like the not-as-sweet-as-overseas-strawberries that were kinda sour. But she loved it! Check out the remnants...

Don't you think Lil' K has grown up so suddenly, almost overnight? She's such a big girl now. No longer the baby!

Coincidentally, we were all dressed in PINK today. Haha, we are the PINKIES =)
Shucks. I look super fat. Must be the excessive binging the past 2 weeks. [Note to self: I shall go on a diet soon... after I finish my 3 bars of chocolates, 1 party pack of M&Ms, 10 little packets of Twisties BBQ curry flavour, 1 pack of Hot & Spicy Potato Chips and other snacks that we bought from Japan]

Walked around a little after lunch to check out the surrounding area. Very nicely landscaped gardens showcasing the different companies and their portfolios.

Lil' K wanted to help Gwandma carry the umbrella. How sweet and thoughtful!

I Doh-Wan! I Doh-Noh! Help!

K has surprised all of us with her language and musical abilities. She's been sprouting strange phrases for the longest time. We still haven't mastered the complete art of getting her to sprout things on command, but she yelps "HELP" in times of desperation where G tries to change her top and it gets stuck at her head. "I Doh-Wan" is heard often these days. especially when she doesn't want to sleep. The latest is "I Doh-Noh" after I put Mr Zebra on top of her head and asked her where he was. Her vocab is also pretty extensive. She babbles lots, with different variations in tones. Pity we can't always decipher what she's saying all the time.

Here's a photo of K and me looking cool in our shades:

And yes, there was a cake for her 8th month celebration. Cake was from Jane Cake Station again cos I was too ill to eat it the last time and I absolutely HAD to try it. Oh, and the scapegoat for having a cake this month is SH... cos he flew back from Oslo en route to Perth. I'll never find no reason to have a cake every month, would I?

Growin' Growin' Growin'

Brought K for her booster pneumococcal jab today. Her growth updates are:

Height: 70.5cm (she grew 3cm since last month) (75th percentile)
Weight: 8.3kg (up by 600g) (75th to 90th percentile)
Head Circumference: 43.2cm (up by 2.5cm from the last time) (50th to 75th percentile)

She now has one pearly white peeking out distinctly from the bottom. That tooth was a dark horse. The other teeth seemed to be coming out since 4 months, but other than the ridges just beneath the surface of the gum, they kinda didn't grow out. This dark horse didn't even show any signs of emerging and ta da! Its peering out for the world to see. And yes, she bites. Ouch.

4th Anniversary & 1st Mother's Day

We celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary in a special way-- first time we had K to join us! Spent the day with K (ok, half the day for me. bleah.). She was so thrilled to see me get back from work early that she squealed in delight =) Awwwww...

K likes to be bounced on my leg/tummy. She made our anniversary all the more special when she tried for the first time to bounce herself! It was rather funny cos she looked like she was having spasms. Heh.

Dad & Mom took us to the Singapore Flyer during sunset. The view was pretty, but I guess we would have relished it slightly more if we didn't associate Raffles Place with work. Saw The Fullerton Hotel, where we got married 4 years ago from the Flyer. We had yummy italian dinner at Zambuca after the ride.

Here are some of the photos of the day:

Roomie & I brought the seccys out for lunch at Oscar's at Conrad Centennial Singapore. We were all given lucky draw coupons to fill in. I hardly ever strike lottery (partially cos I feel immense pain parting with my money knowing that with my arse luck, it'll probably be money down the drain, and partially cos I have arse luck with such things) but lo and behold, I received a call one day from someone at Conrad asking me to clarify and confirm my address. I brushed it off as "probably want to send me some promotional brochure or something". Alas, when the letter came, I was almost about to toss it into the rubbish bin. Thank goodness I decided to open it first! Amazingly, I won the first prize for the lucky draw--a weekend stay at the Conrad Centennial Singapore's Classic Room with buffet breakfast. How did that ever happen, I wonder.

Since it was Mother's Day the weekend after our anniversary (and cos Lil K hasn't started her My Gym classes yet), we decided to utilise the voucher. We checked in around noon (our original plan of checking it at 10am never materialised... as expected). The service at Conrad is impeccable, to say the least. They even set up Lil' K's cot in our room, together with toiletries and baby Conrad bear for Lil' K. We went shopping at Suntec City (have I ever mentioned that Suntec has changed so much since the last time I was there?).

We retired back to the hotel after walking for a couple of hours. We tried to bring Lil' K swimming in her new swimming costume (finally-- something that fits!) at the pool, but the water was too cold for all of us. Lil' K squawked when her feet touched the cold water. We decided to bring her back to the room and create her own swimming pool in the bathtub--with nice warm water of course. We brought K's float along so she was happily swimming in the tub towards Conrad's Mr Duckie floating at the other end of the tub. We had dinner at Billy Bomber's in Marina Square (the last time I ate at Billy Bomber's must have ben eons ago!) and did some shopping after dinner before heading back to the hotel.

Sunday was Mother's Day-- my first Mother's Day! We had breakfast at Oscar's and soon after, dim sum lunch at Golden Peony with the folks. It was pig-out day. Oh, did I mention that the service at Conrad is impeccable? Its either that, or just about all the managers knew I won the prize and came up to congratulate me and say hello. Geez. Not used to the attention. I guess I can't be a movie star, can I?

Once and for all... the answer is...
